Confession. I once accidentally spilled an entire glass bottle of homemade Irish cream that a friend had made for me as a Christmas gift. I’m not kidding when I say it was the messiest spill I have ever seen. Glass everywhere, coated in sticky, thick liquid. We even had to move the fridge and mop under THERE! God was punishing me.
Perhaps it was my guilt, or maybe it was sheer grief over a missed opportunity to consume something delicious that kept me from making this myself for so long. Either way, I was very happy when Amy told me that she had a great recipe for Irish Cream. A chance at redemption. I think that our photos hit the nail on the head and that I am forgiven. I hope so. The recipe can be found in the cookbook Dishing Up® New Jersey: 150 Recipes from the Garden State by John Holl. We poured our Irish Cream over iced coffee, which made for some stunning images. It is also great served straight up over ice or with hot coffee. Stay tuned for another great drink recipe tomorrow!
