Hanukah does not start for a few days, but it’s never too early to start planning something delicious to enhance your holiday. For those not familiar with Hanukah traditions, it is a long-held tradition to serve foods fried in oil during the festival. This represents the “miracle of the oil” which kept the menorah lit for 8 days, when there was only enough oil for one. According to an article by Jewish Action (online magazine), “In the US, latkes still reign supreme, but in the Jewish State sufganiyot are the quintessential Chanukah food.”
